    John M. Richards.  Age 70 of Wyandotte.

    Beloved brother of Rhonda Carlos, Chuck Richards, Kenny (Rose) Richards, Keith (Michele) Richards, Patti Blasco and Gary (Kelly) Richards.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and great longtime friends.

    Memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Vincent Pallotti Capital Campaign (windows).

    Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory located within the Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.

    John Richards was a man who faced many challenges in his lifetime, yet enjoyed so many triumphs. John faced every hurdle bravely, and devoted his life to helping others overcome their hurdles, as well. “You’re only as sick as your secrets,” he used to say, getting them to learn to open up, just as he did. John was a loving father and son, a wonderful grandfather and friend, but most of all, he taught us to share our secrets, our love and our lives, just as he did.

    John’s story began on a warm summer day in 1947, in the bustling city of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Those were times of triumph in this country, as our nation’s heroes returned home victorious from World War II to claim their share of the American Dream, and the Baby Boomer generation was born. On August 6, 1947, Art and Frances Richards had a boom of their own, with the birth of a baby son they named John III.

    John was the second of eight children in the large Catholic family’s home, joining his older sister Mary, who was thrilled to have a baby brother. John’s dad was a tool & die maker for the family business, JA Richards Company, which was started by his father. John’s mom worked as an RN, though as the kids kept arriving, she soon had her hands full!
